Dr.Manmohan Singh Atwal became Vice-Chancellor of Eternal University in Aug.1,2009. He is a visionary leader with a rare blend of academia, industry and not-for-profit organizational & scientific experience of 45 years in the United States of America. As Vice President of Academic Affairs & Dean of three universities in USA and Australia, he brings in a wealth of experience in developing educational programs and curricula for several faculties at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, both for on-campus and in the distance education streams.

Before coming back to India, Dr.Atwal has held the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost & Professor of Public Health at Akamai University, USA and was Dean and Director General at the International University of Professional Studies, Los Angeles, CA. He has held the position of Dean College of Health Sciences at Greenwich University, Sydney, Australia. He was the Executive Director & Founder Director of Volunteers of America (a not-for-profit) organization based in Baltimore, MD, USA. As a seasoned entrepreneur, he established and managed 4 companies and served on their boards. His other senior management portfolio assignments in industry included working as a Chief Operating Officer at Metastatic Pharmaceutical Company in Rockville, MD, USA; as a Director of Universal Laboratories, Victor, N.Y., USA and as a Senior Scientist at the Squibb Institute of Medical Research, New Brunswick, N.J., USA.

Dr.Atwal carried out his post-doctoral research work and held academic positions at world renowned American Institutions-John Hopkins University Medical School, & John Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD; Columbia University Medical Center, NY and University of California-San Francisco & Berkley campuses.

Dr.Atwal is a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago and M.S. in Biochemistry from Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. In addition, he has completed an Executive MBA from Columbia University, NY and a Masters in Public Health from John Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD. He is an alumnus of the Punjab University,with first-class M.sc honours in Chemistry .
