- About Workshop
Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most exciting trends and innovation in the recent history of technological advancement covering wide range of applications like healthcare, entertainment, appliances control & utility services, security, defense, traffic management, transportation, home & industrial automation, remote monitoring, smart cities, smart forming, smart grid etc. IoT is the network of physical devices accessed through the Internet. IoT market is likely to experience year-on-year growth, rising to more than 50 billion devices which will be digitally connected across the globe by 2020, and representing $19 trillion in business opportunities. The graduate engineers have huge job opportunities in this field because of wide range of IoT applications.
The aim of this workshop is to impart knowledge about the real time applications of IoT among students and teaching community. Experts from academia and Industry have been invited to deliver lectures about the current and emerging trends in IoT. The workshop will focus on both theoretical as well as hands-on experience in IoT Technology to interface the things for different applications using Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Intel Galileo or ESP8266 toolkits with devices such as LEDs, sensors, actuators etc. Theoretical session will be conducted in the morning hours and practical sessions in the afternoon. At the end, a small project will be given to the students as a task and the winners will be awarded certificate of participation and prizes.
Intro to ATmega8 Microcontroller, AVR Studio of LEDs and Buzzer Writing first program in Embedded C etc along with the listed project modules
Practical 1: Blinking of LED
Project 1: Burning the program on Hardware with some different LED patterns
Practical 2: Turn ON/OFF Buzzer at desired delay
Project 2: Turn ON/Off AC appliances with MCU as some delay
Practical 3: Transferring data serially from PC to microcontroller
Project 3: Display sensor data on Hyper Terminal
Practical 4: How to configure AT Commands.
Project 4 : Automatic Updates/uploads of sensor value on IP/web. or
Project 5 : Real Time monitoring of sensors on a particular IP Address/server.
Practical 5: Acquire a control signal from an IP.
Project 6 : hands-on training on IOT BASED SMART HOME
Free workshop Kits ( 20 Nos) will be distributed to students in the group of five for hands-on training exercise
