Akal College of Engineering & Technology is one of the new educational ventures of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib. The Akal College of Engineering & Technology (ACET) has been accredited by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree. ACET is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, H.P. and the historic first academic session was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 25 August, 2007.

ACET offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree level courses of studies in four disciplines:

1) Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

2) Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

3) Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

4) Information Technology (IT)

Admission will be based on All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Government of India. Seats would also be available in the Management category, as per Rules & Regulations in force, based on merit.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, Michigan, U.S. and Eternal University, H.P. India on December 26, 2005 for establishing possible academic collaborative and cooperative arrangements.

Among many other things mentioned in the MoU, it will specifically take care of the following:

1. It will facilitate the admission of Eternal University students to WSU, immediately, with certain favorable considerations.

2. It will allow exchange of scholars between the two institutions.

3. It will allow Engineering students to transfer to WSU after two years' study at Baru Sahib, and complete the degree at WSU.

4. It will allow joint education/research projects between the two institutions.
